It provides the platform for web services and the WorldWide Web…The Internet has modified the distribution of information.The Internet has been viewed as a revolutionary advancein technology with a greater impact on informationexchange than both the telephone and televisioncombined. Accompanying this change in informationexchange comes a variety of individual interpretationsregarding what this new technology means.

occupation, Internet usagewarrants further study and investigation. Thisphenomenological study sought to identify personalmeaning of Internet usage for seven adult participants.•Common themes emerged from an analysis of theparticipants' responses. Fidler's Lifestyle PerformanceModel was used as a framework in the analysis of themes. From this, strategies and interventions may bedeveloped from the theme analysis performed by theresearchers. The Internet may serve as a valuable toolnot only for information distribution, but also for futureoccupational therapy intervention.
 
 
Meaning of Intranet

An intranet serves the internalneeds of the business entity. Intranet users are able toaccess the Internet, but firewalls keep outsiders fromaccessing confidential data. It makes use of theinfrastructure and standards of the Internet and theWeb. Intranets use low-cost Internet tools, are easy toinstall, and offer flexibility. Intranets have already beenestablished by at least two-thirds of the Fortune 500companies and many other organizations.
