I am a philosophical agnostic. I define that term as to mean someone who has learned enough about human limitations to realize that we can never know if anything can exist Beyond the universe, or what something Beyond the universe could possibly mean and what it might be like.
Hence, a philosophical agnostic CANNOT HAVE religious beliefs of any sort or be a "hard" atheist, someone who positively believes or knows there are no such things as gods, God, spirits, or anything supernatural. On the other hand, a philosophical agnostic MUST BE a soft atheist, one who simply lacks any belief in gods, God, spirits or anything supernatural. Any such set of beliefs or purported knowledge are automatically defined as off-limits to the philosophical agnostic as they lie far beyond human comprehension.
As stated, philosophical agnosticism arises more from considerations of human nature than the nature of the universe. Science is the approved method of learning more about the universe since its method is tentative, dependent on observations and testing, and amenable to amendment--a fit system for finite and flawed human minds.
This group will include essays and book review essays on religion, atheism, philosophy and other areas of interest written from the perspective of a philosophical agnostic.
Some topics will overlap with my other groups. I'll post the essays in all pertinent groups.
I hope you enjoy them.
