Topic: Where is video going?
I agree that TV is the front. Or video anyways. As internet technology evolves and TV is delivered 'on demand' I think that as large networks lose their huge grip we will see many TV stars, writers, etc break off and start taking a more indi approach. most likely out of necessity, as if the networks start loosing money... heads roll. Into the hands of the people. It has already started.

thanks for your comments. I totally agree. Our technology, like those of many internet providers is starting to value and champion the long tail, "the indis" as you so coined. Eventually, the masses will have an uprising that the corporate world will have no choice but to listen to.

Hessij, I agree that streaming video will play a large part in the future media landscape, however I'm not sure of how integral it's roll will be in social networking. Videos can already be uploaded and tagged on Facebook and that hasn't created any sort of revolution (I'm an avid Fbook user and rarely view videos). I believe the future of social networks such as Facebook and Myspace lies more in mobile applications that allow you to interact with your friends and others around you in real time.

Hi there. I just joined this group today and I'm luck to be in a company of those who are as passionate about social web. I wanted to ask the group when they see a pivotal point in the social networking space that will significantly change the way people live. I work on the video front and I believe that TV is that medium and when it morphs with online that will dramatically change media consumption. don't know how the fallout will look like but I think it's definitely going to put more control in the user's hands.
