This group is concerned with media of the sci-fi genre of Cyberpunk. From literature from the likes of Bruce Bethke, William Gibson (Neuromancer), Rudy Rucker, Bruce Sterling, and Vernor Vinge (True Names) to movies like Blade Runner, to even role playing games like Cyberpunk 2020. Video games such as System Shock is also of this genre. Cyberpunk writers tend to use elements from the hard-boiled detective novel, film noir, and postmodernist prose to describe the often nihilistic underground side of an electronic / information society.
