98% of the real estate designations and certifications noted here require that a real estate agent be a dues paying member of the National Association of Realtors and subscribe to the organization's Code of Ethics. Once then eligible, the REALTOR is eligible to pay for the courses required for certification, attend all the classes required, pass the tests and submit documented real estate sales required to to be awarded the certification or designation. Exceptions to the NAR sponsored courses are certifications awarded for completing other coursework to attain certifications from outside real estate organizations such as the Dallas based Institute for Luxury Home Marketing.
