Preface
I am honored that Dr. Mohamad Shakrokhani has chosen to prepare thisFarsi translation of “Hydrodynamics of Pumps”, a book that was originally jointly published in 1994 by Concepts ETI, Inc. and Oxford University Press.It was a pleasure to work with him to ensure that the translation is asaccurate aspossible. When I first placed the entire book on the internet some five years ago,it was with the hope that the material would get the widest possible circulation.This hope was founded on two coupled beliefs. First that the most effective wayto roll back the limitsof knowledge is to share it as widely and freely as possible.And second that through the process of sharing knowledge we achieve a mutualrespect and cooperation that is to the benefit of all mankind.
