Thursday is Back Up Your Hard Drive Day, scribes, and I'm getting THAT one in just under the wire! Hard copies are good too; I now have a solid third of the sequel on paper, hole-punched and in a binder. Gives a reassuring sense of accomplishment. Coming up: Mother's Day Out applies the laws of physics and astronomy to household management.

Powerful story, powerful storytelling. Older Bro's wrong: he's NOT exactly where he wanted to be. Complete abandonment of five kids? That bespeaks unimaginable shame. Think you're right: it's time for that road trip, and I'm NOT just saying that because I want to read about that TOO..but I do.

Alice it's so true! I have to confess the internet has become a HUGE crutch for me. So easy just to google instead of trying to remember on your own.

Good afternoon from the land of Wind Raking Through Cedars. 35 mph winds + hundred foot trees= Heads Up! (Must look up great quote from "My Antonia"..."the wind was the sea"). First post of the New Year, had to take a wee rest after my Apparently Eccentric Year-End Review (hey, if The Economist can do it, I can too!) Looking forward to catching up with all my friends & neighbors on Scribd.

Helen, So nice to have you and all your Scriblets back in touch. This year is going to be a good one, with lots of changes and opportunities for all of us to choose to connect more deeply or to retreat in fear. I know where you'll be and will enjoy sharing our stories.

So...are you saying...knit one pearl two is backwards? (tee hee couldn't resist that) This is adorable.

helenwinslow Replied:

the men might not get this--it's knit one purl two. And I've been thinking...I sewed a button on my husband's overcoat before he ever even proposed to me, but that might be okay, because it doesn't represent the same kind of time commitment as knitting an entire sweater. And things seem to have turned out... :)

Gigi, let me count the ways. No, that would take too long. There's a drink with your name on it (literally) at Le Colonial in SF and when the ball drops in Times Square I'll be lifting that virtual glass to you, co-executive director of SASI (Scribd Authors Support Independents)! Stevieland--it's a state of mind. We're ALL on that bus to Stevieland! Chapter 20 Stevieland
