"Let the stories that one writes tell the story of oneself." - Oscar Wilde. Ok, maybe Wilde didn't exactly say that, but I felt it was a nice quote that I totally made up myself to start this off. My love affair with words and the worlds they can conjure started with a close encounter with the Reaper himself. A story came almost fully fleshed out in my head, and I spent the next 4 months writing my first go at what resembles something of novel, And The Devil Winked At Me. Ever since then, I figured that this was I wanted to do, and I haven't looked back since. I graduated with a degree in Writing and worked as Editor for a couple of magazines, while doing some freelance writing on the side. All this time I thought that my love for words would translate well into a skill that I could make a living out of. And while I'm still working towards that, hopeful for fruition in the form of a career of some sort, it has come to my attention that it was not abut that at all. Turns out that whatever I was doing was just to keep myself close to words. Writing them. Reading them. Being around them. And I guess that's what led me to put up this collection of stuff I've written along the way up here. Little poems, short stories, novellas and op-eds that took a snapshot of a mind at certain moments in his life, I present to you: Jeremy Hu's Typewriter Musings and A Blanket of Stars.see more
