At that time, Mike's father, Michael J Hirst, an incredible guitarist and singer/songwriter, taught him a few basic guitar chords. Over four-hundred songs, nine albums (many unreleased), five invented alternate tunings, a few hundred shows, and nine long years later, Mike entered the summer of 2007 with even higher expectations for himself and his music. So instead of reaching into his old spiral notebooks, Mike basically locked himself in his bedroom again, and in a matter of weeks, wrote a dozen new songs.And while "FOR LOVE AND LIFE" is the newest chapter in Mike's musically-journaled life, where the story goes from here is up to YOU! Every listener, every fan, every critic...Being that Mike Hirst is an "independent artist", he does EVERYTHING himself. He writes the music, produces the albums, and books his own tours.
