Working globally with governments, organizations, and individuals, the International Consortium on GovernmentalFinancial Management is dedicated to improving financial management so governments may better serve their citizens.
The Consortium’s international activities include:(1) Encouraging collaboration and communication among professionalsinvolved with government accounting, auditing, budgeting, information systems, cash management, debt administration, andfinancial management;(2) Contributing to the advancement of government financial management principles and standards,and through educational events, promoting best practices in government financial to improve management control andaccountability to the public;(3) Disseminating, to its members and to the public, information concerning governmentfinancial management;(4) Promoting the development and application of professional standards to support governmentfinancial management activities;In addressing issues, the Consortium embraces many disciplines of governmental financial management including:accounting, auditing, budgeting, debt administration, information technology, tax administration and treasury management.These areas provide the general frame of reference for the programs, activities and operations of the Consortium.The material published herein may be reproduced without the consent of the Consortium, which in fact encourages theirreproduction, translation and distribution.
