bicycles and pedistrians do not mix very well, when the cyclist does not dismount and continues to go at a very dangerous speed toward a pedistrian, and thinking the pedistrian should get out of their way. I walk almost every day (from 10 to 20 kilometers) and I feel I am taking my life in my hands every time I enter a sidewalk, or try to make it across the street in a marked or unmarked crosswalk. Try walking up 84th between 164 and 162nd. It does not have a sidewalk, or any sort of walkway for pedistrians. Try crossing the crosswalk at the Rona entrance without a car or two going through the crosswalk with the activated "walk" sign on. Try attempting to get a crosswalk installed at the corner of 84th and 168th. (I have been asking the city to install one for seven years). Perhaps if the person in charge were to actually walk a little around Surrey, he/she might try to appease the poor taxpayer/pedistrian.
