A little more on the 2003 Server setup, this setup works great for a home server. But if you don’thave a domain name, then you just connect using the External IP address. Note: Some ISP’s donot allow servers at home for External Usage, they may have the ports already blocked, butshould still work locally!1.When you set up or install Server 2003 make sure you set it up to connect Via windowsRemote desktop connection, “Win XP Pro also if you use it. XP home does not let youconnect Via Remote Desk top, but you can connect to OS that has it from XP Home OS”.2.Set a password for you sever 2003, you can use USER NAME: Administrator PASSWORD: password (whatever you want).
3.
If you have a Static IP (it always stays the same) Then you need to set a local IP permanent for the Windows server. EXAMPLE: if your router is a Linksys the IP should be something like this, DEFAULT GATEWAY 192.168.1.1 Then set your server IP permanent like this 192.168.1.160 or something. If not it will change on you.Below are the steps you need to set a permanent IP (Local) on your Server Machine Win2003 Server of XP.

1.Open your network connections

2.
Right Click the network connection and click properties
