Mr. Obama, Day Care costs have gone up at three times the rate of inflation. Full time child care for 3-month old twins now costs over $40,000 annually in Massachusetts. This is on par with the cost of higher education. Once you account for income tax, a women must earn over $60K to afford to send her twins to child care -- and that's just to break even. In Europe, public education begins with pre-school at age 3. In this country, only private child care or pre-school is available until a child is 5-6 years old. What do you propose to address this issue of rising child care costs? I would like to see public education available at age 3 and a major tax break for families with children under the age of 6.
