Akkiki still remembers the horric day where guns were redviolently and screams of agony and excruciating pain were heard.Akikki remains traumatized since he was 3 as he witnessed thebrutality and gruesomeness of his parents being axed by twomerciless rebels. It has been 10 years since the devastating eventand Akkiki has studied overwhelmingly hard at school to hope

tined to face the challenge of his life- versing the Redganidans whowere remarkably deemed unbeatable. Akkiki was not frightenedor pressured at all as he was regarded as the boy with the biggestheart amongst his little village.Whistles suddenly went off and the grand nals had beenofcially commenced. Almost immediately, the Redganidans hadamazingly scored 3 goals in one minute in the arid and desertlike eld. Soon after, Akkiki found himself in a situation he hadnever encountered before- he had an open shot to score a goal. This was his rst opportunity for him to score as he was terrible atsoccer, primarily because he frequently daydreamed about beinga president on the eld. Screams of anticipation and excitementbegan as Akkiki attempted to kick the ball. He struck the ball withcondence and pride and suprisingly the ball had been kicked sotremendously strong that it ew 150 metres off the eld. Akkikiwas obviously extremely embarrassed and he sequentially ran afterthe ball to comfort himself and to get way from the eld. He was 2metres away from the ball until a loud explosion occurred- Akkikihad sadly stepped on a detrimental land mine.

Minutes later, the reckoning and disheartening soundsfrom the ambulance whizzed past around the villiage as the stronghearted and distressed Akkiki is driven to the hospital with lifethreatening injuries.Momentarily Akkiki opens his eyes and witnesses a monstrous andunforgettable sight of blood spewing from his arms and legs, andsaw eyes of uncertainty from the paramedics in the ambulance. Forinstance he was denied enrollment to universities where he wishedto continue his essential studies and practice skill necessary for thepresidential role. After years of being mentored and tutored bythe politicians of Uganda, he was ultimately given the green lightto participate in the presidential election. Akkiki was exceedinglyexcited and exhilarated that his dream is almost attained despitehaving just one real leg. He spent weeks practicing for the debates, speeches and campaigns he would inevitably complete. The day inwhich he would present his rst speech eventually came and wasliterally gazing at the intimidating podium where he would givehis speech.
