Designers For Darfur was founded in 2006 by designer Malcolm Harris (Mal Sirrah, Inc.) and co-chaired by model/heiress Lydia Hearst. In association with Fashion Television and the Save DarfurCoalition, Designers For Darfur was launched via an unprecedented charity fashion show held onFebruary 9, 2007 at the Roseland Ballroom in New York City. Designers For Darfur nowrepresents hundreds of international designers and the wider fashion community collectivelybanding together to show their commitment and solidarity towards ending the atrocities currentlytaking place in Darfur.
