The Kerr Standard Extension Gun Sling
 
Starting with the shortextension piece, with the faceof the hook toward the butt,snap the hook upward into thebutt swivel, depress the springand thread the entire hookthrough the swivel. Then snapthe hook into the loose squarelink attached to the long loop.In threading through the upper swivel first snap the hook upward intothe swivel, then depress the springand pass the hook through the swivel,bringing it down and in the samemanner passing it through the metallink on the loose end of the long loop.Then bring the hook up, snapping it into the swivel again.To tighten the sling, pull DOWN on the outside strap taking hold near the swivel on thebarrel of the rifle. To loosen, pull UP on the same strap.These directions apply to the Enfield 1917model and to the Russian rifle. When the Kerr Standard Extension Gun Sling is to be used on theSpringfield 1903 or Krag, which are shorter betweenswivels, the short extension piece is assembled asshown in the accompanying illustration.This is done by passing the hook through theloose metal link and snapping it into the butt swivel.
