Richard Watson was not able to attend this meeting but will continue his treasurer duties.Current Wells Fargo account balance is $8,306. Deposits included: $2,033 from the Cityof Portland annual grant for promotional expenses, $318 reimbursement for the PaulBunyan plaque, $750 Small grants program for the Denver Ave. Street Fair & a netincome of $880 from the neighborhood clean-up.July 2009 Wells Fargo account balance was around $6,500.A balance sheet is available to anyone who is interested in further details.

Construction will begin on the site (justSouth of Columbia Blvd., near the wastewater treatment plant) January/February 2011with completion end of summer 2011 since new Portsmouth pipe will open December 1

Monthly Meeting MinutesJuly 14th, 2010Suggestions from the KNA for the design included: Eco-roof with extended 12” depth toallow for a larger variety of vegetation, include the roof as part of the trailheadexperience & an interpretive marker explaining the facility.A flyer was distributed with updates for the design of the project. More information can be obtained by contacting Debbie directly at debbie.caselton@portlandoregon.gov or  calling 503-823-2831.Steve Rupert: Chair: Update on Denver Ave. new construction homes within the KentonConservation District: Two 15’-wide homes on Denver Ave. came to the CityAdjustment Committee & put to a vote. 4 to 2 vote in favor cast & the constructioncompany was granted the variance. An appeal to L.U.B.A. (Land Use Board of Appeals)can be made up to 21 days from when the “Notice of Decision” is received. The “Intentto Appeal” application fee to L.U.B.A. is $350.Angela Moos suggested that the Oregon Bar Association be utilized for the Land UseCommittee to meet with a lawyer that specializes in Land Use/Construction for an hour tosee if it is a viable appeal before approving $350 for the application fee.Seeking approval for a 1-time fee, up to $75, to the Oregon Bar Association for an hour consultation with a lawyer that specializes in Land Use/Construction law.Moved: Webly Bowles / Second: Steve Kayfes

, noise variance till 2am onFriday & Saturday nights was never applied for & traditionally variances are never granted for Sunday nights. Funding for the event may be an issue. Noise control office decibel readings from PIR last Saturday were taken along with fieldnotes. Will continue monitoring variance races throughout the summer & will update theKNA, PIR & City of Portland Noise Review Board at the end of race season.PIR Survey Update: Christopher Little: 346 surveys received = 10% of the households inKenton. An update will be placed in the August Kenton Connect newsletter.Michelle Charbonneau suggested for future surveys that a clause of no informationsharing is included in the survey to promote a higher return. Wednesday of themonth at the Historic Kenton Firehouse.Livability Team: Monthly graffiti abatement clean up was last Sunday & Kenton Park was the focus. They cleaned up a lot of fireworks & beer cans.Unknown woman knocking door-to-door with a story that she needs money for gas totake a family member to the hospital. If you are approached do not give her money or lether in your house & call the non-emergency number at 503-823-3333. Several boardmembers have already been approached by the same woman in various parts of theneighborhood.Page 2 of 3
