Not so sure about that. Science and religion are poles apart. Science is not reliogion, because religion is based on faith and mythology. Science is based upon evidence, development of theories that best explain evidence, and then modification of theory on the basis of new evidence.

We most make a distinction between official science ( universities, institutions - the stablisment ) and alchimists who believe in obtaining real knowledge to help humanity ( like in ancient Greece ).. but the former have become a new "religion" coz authoritarian and omnipresent... Corporate religion created by Rome got nothing to do with our ancesters knowledge of the universe (Re-ligare)

Re-ligare ( from where the word religion was created ) means to be connected to the universe..the ancient's interpretation of this connections were based in evidences too and not in myths. Myths were just a kind of poetic way to preserve this precious knowledge from destruction..Modern sciences = History have been rewritten.I agree with u in the sense that creationism is not science.

Our ancestors did not know much about the universe, they were pre-science. They explained natural phenomena in terms of personality traits, which is where the idea of gods came from. Science is not religion, because it is not faith based. It is based on evidence, and testable theory. Religious ideas cannot be tested because they involve the super-natural, which is untestable.

Here's an example of an ancient interpretation of the world: Sometimes when people are angry, they cause damage. Volcanoes cause damage, therefore the volcano must be angry. Maybe there is a volcano god. Men like attractive women, so maybe we can appease volcano god by giving it a nice looking female...hence human sacrifice. Most of hidden knowledge in the hands of few are our ancesters..The Mayans didnt know about the universe ?? ..The greeks used to build libraries whiles other burned them..personality traits ( metaphores ) were part of the poetic way to protect knowledge. In the greek mythology every planet have a name of a god but still it was refered to a planet..Just few who speak ancient greek can decode it.

Human sacrifices were much more retaled to the power of some substance founded in the composition of blood which have been proved.The elites loved to drink blood in some places and sacrifcies were an easy way to get rid off those who knew to much.. .The ancients knew more than what is portrayed, this why libraries as Alexandrie were burned.
