Socrates Didn't Know Much, Nor Do Our Teens
Posted on January 2, 2008 |
Dear Builder, As both a philosopher and a law student I was educated using Soctratic Methold, involving questions and answers. The Socratic Method that most teachers use involves an introduction, question and answer, and then summing up. Real Soctratic Dialogue intends Being, or an Unrestricted Act of Understanding. This is from Plato and Jesuit Philosopher Bernard Lonergan. Socratic Method teaches critical thinking and is good to that extent. Thanks, Tony Fejfar

Dear Spetuagint, Your post-structuralist sounding gibberish is great, you must have tenure as a law professor at a very important institution. Good Luck, Tony

Dear Speptuagint, I have found that if you stew fresh cranberries, they taste like cranberries. That is my realist response. Thanks, Tony Fejfar

Responding to God
Posted on November 28, 2007 |
Dear Doug, Nice article. My favorite psalm is: Your ways O Lord make known to me, teach me your paths, guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my saviour and I wait for you all of the day. Thanks, Tony

Objectivity is also known as Authentic Subjectivity, which is based upon the Transcendental Precepts, Be Attentive, Be Intelligent, Be Reasonable, Be Responsble, Be Loving, Be Compassionate. I argue that if both of us are using the Transcendental Precepts then we begin to understand language in the same way, ruling out absurd or quriky definitions. Thanks, Tony Fejfar

Psychiatry and Malpractice
Posted on November 4, 2007 |
Dear Alene, I am an academic lawyer who has an expertise in law and psychiatry. I am not a psychiatrist and so I cannot give you psychiatric advice. Try asking your psychiatrist about "Geodone" as a medication, that might help you. Thanks, Tony
