Comment on What Does the Bible Teach About Tithing?
Posted on August 30, 2008
When God gave a commandment He was very specific. NO Scripture commands tithing to be done on cash wages, Instead tithes of food only were shared with the poor. Tithes were never levied on the wages of poor people. No scripture commands tithing to be done by New Covenant believers after the Cross. Malachi was addressed to the priests of the Old Covenant and the sons of Levi, not the sons of the Apache Indian and Eskimo. Paul didn't teach tithing, neither did Peter. OT priests did not tithe, and we Christians are Christ's NT priesthood (I Pet.2:5,9). When Christians tithe, they deny their own priesthood.
