About me:

Kevin joined the Arizona State University Young Democrats in the Fall of 2000 at the age of 17 after graduating from Red Mountain High School in Mesa, where he worked on the Gore/Lieberman Presidential race. In 2002 he traveled to Tucson to work on Raul Grijalva’s congressional race in CD7, as well as the statewide races of Janet Napolitano, Terry Goddard, and Chris Cummisky. In 2003 Kevin was elected Arizona State University Undergraduate Student Government Vice-President. He worked closely with ASU’s minority coalitions, creating liaisons for each of them and meeting coalition leaders about the concerns of their communities. Working with the LGBTQ coalition, Kevin drafted a resolution and conducted a lobbying effort with Miguel Ruiz to create a Gay and Lesbian Studies Certificate Program as well as an Employment Non-Discrimination Policy that protected transgendered employees. For his work on LGBT rights issues he was awarded honorable mention as the Straight Ally of the Year, as well as his name being placed in the National Civil Rights Museum in Birmingham, AL.During the 2004 election cycle Kevin served as the leader of ASU Students for Kerry, co-leader of Students for Dennis Cahill, and as Political Director for Rep. Ed Ableser’s state house campaign. After graduating from ASU in 2005 with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and a certificate in International Studies, Kevin began a campaign for Tempe City Council after a draft campaign that began on Facebook. He proposed an ordinance to the Tempe City Council to prevent the creation of methamphetamine and fought for student representation on city boards and commissions. With the help of Bondelli for Tempe campaign manager Stan Williams the campaign gathered enough signatures to make it on the ballot, but he chose to withdraw from the race to support Corey Woods.Kevin has served the Young Democrats of Arizona as Vice-President of Finance and National Committeeman. He currently serves as the Southwest Region Director of the Young Democrats of America, overseeing Arizona, Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico, Utah, and Wyoming. In 2006 Kevin was hired to be the Internet Organizer for the Arizona Democratic Party and in August became Non-Traditional Campaigns Director. After the election Kevin remained at the Arizona Democratic Party as the Internet and Technology Strategist. He is responsible for maintaining the Arizona Democratic Party website, email communication, online fundraising, graphic design, and internet communications. He is a S.L.A.M. session trainer for Effective Meetings, Youth Outreach, and Internet/Technology and acts as internship coordinator for the Party.
