pbks.info scribbled: I imagine you are a disaffected ex-member of the Brahma Kumaris. I too was a member and was barred from attending their gatherings some years ago. My "crime" was discovering the so called "Shanker Party" which is also what the BKs call the "Advanced Party". Alots of what you say about the BKs is correct although in my view you are looking at the surface. A review of almost any religion will show it to be pretty grim: most people within a religion don't follow the teachings and the teachers don't teach the teachings - but teach their own version and try and control the students / followers. If you look at the role of Brahma Baba, he gave birth to and sustained the BKs; it was the part of a Mother. The BKs still call themselves after him, the children of Mother rather than the name they where told to use in the murli - "Prajapita Brahma Kumaris" - the children of Father and Mother. So Mother having raised the children - and many of those children having strayed from the rules of the brahmin family, someone has to straighten the family out. As in any family, this is the role of Father - Shiv Shankar. The murlis up until 1969 where repeated via Brahma but not understood and without understanding the students couldn't put the the information into action.
