Your dog will be all the better for a non chemical diet, carrots are always good to chew on and provide nutritional value, better than the chemcials in commercial treats. Mixing in some veggies in your dog's diet is a good thing. Thanks for your comment. Teri

Comment on Key Retirement and Old Age Plan Through Adequate Insurance
Posted on February 9, 2008

Nice picture Kaus. I get a little upset with paying my insurance premiums, because I never have a claim? All that money goes away for not a heck of alot. I think they should reduce the premiums every year until its zero. In reality yes it does come in handy when there is the need, but Insurance is based on fear. Good article and well presented.

Our original groundhog here in Ontario, Canada died in hibernation he was 22 years old. His name was Wiarton Willy and he really was a good old hog.

Comment on The Warning Signs of Anorexia Nervosa
Posted on February 7, 2008

It is becoming common place to have children with this eating disorder, a symptom of deeper emotional distress over weight gain may be the cuplrit. There is far too much emphasis put on the physical appearance of women mostly who suffer with this illness. This is mostly due to the media and our beloved search for perfectionism.

Comment on effective parent
Posted on February 7, 2008

In my day parents did spank and so did teachers and sometimes it was not warranted. I feel the pendulum has gone in the other direction and I see children that are obnoxiously misbehaving in public. There has to be some punishment for bad behavior, but not a physical bash, more a taking away of the TV, or some time on the naughty mat. Good points on effective parenting skills.

Comment on Victory Garden plan - The Patriotic Garden
Posted on February 6, 2008

I love the idea of victory gardens, and in that way you can make sure your food is not sprayed or GMO'D in any way. When I was a child my parents had a garden every summer as we live in Canada. I used to love to hide in the tall corn stalks, and pick the ripest tomatoes, peppers, onions, and lettuce for salads during the hot summer months. Until one day I learned all about hot peppers by biting into one. I did a happy dance for about 1 hour with a burning mouth! Aw..but it was lovely to have such fresh wholesome produce back then and I hope more people grown their own foods throughout the year. Thanks for the great article!!

Comment on Who Should Edwards’ Supporters Now Choose Between Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama?
Posted on February 5, 2008

I know Edwards had some great points and I liked him for a few reasons. However, we must now choose who will run the country best. I am for Hillary, as she has the experience and knowledge. I know some may disagree but her husband is very well liked internationally and accepted as a true leader. His wife will only build on those relationships already established and still in existence. A vote for unknown change is frightfully reminiscent of George Bush. He also was inexperienced and the country is now in a state of disaster. I go with knowledge, experience and leaders who know what they are doing. No matter what Obama says today, in the first debate he said he would attack Iran, and that is a scary thought.
