About me: Dr. Rahul Mirchandani, Executive Director, Aries Agro Limited, Mumbai, has over a decade of rich and variedexperience in the specialty plant nutrition industry. He has traveled extensively and interacted with the farming community spread across 20 Indian states where Aries’ operates. In his current role, Rahul looks at areas that include Marketing, Sales Promotion, Public Relations, Marketing Finance, Strategy and CorporateCommunications.Rahul has an exemplary academic record. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and holds a Masters Degree in Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Canberra, Australia. In addition, he also holds an Honors Diploma in Sales & Marketing from NIS Sparta and two Advanced Diplomas in Business Finance from ICFAI. He has been a lecturer in Marketing and Organisational Behaviour at the University of Canberra, Australia and at the R A Podar College of Commerce & Economics, Mumbai. Rahul currentlyteaches Rural Marketing, Marketing Research Methods, Consumer Behaviour and Marketing Concepts & Environment at Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies – NMIMS University, Mumbai and is also Visiting Faculty for Rural Marketing at IIM-Ahmedabad.He has written several articles on Marketing and Consumer Behaviour for the Hindu Survey of Indian Agriculture, the Times of India, FICCI Rural Marketing Summit, RuralScan, Chemical Weekly, Meat International (Netherlands), Agriculture Online (USA) and has been invited for guest sessions in Rural Marketing and Concept Selling at several Management Institutes in India. Rahul has received several awards,including the National Merit Scholarship and prestigious college trophies. Rahul currently chairs Youth Affairs at the Confederation of Indian Industry – Young Indians Mumbai Chapter & is also the National Chairman for Youth Affairs. Here, he works with CII-Yi members and mentors 3000 students from 35 educational institutions across India in a wide range of community service, self development and nation building initiatives. Recent projects have focused on rural development, health care, HIV/AIDS counseling, working with street children and women facing domestic violence, and providingsupport for underprivileged children. Currently, Rahul is involving Yi Net students from across the country ina 96 hours Race across India and “Be the Change” – the first ever Yi Youth Affairs leadership summit.His research for the Ph.D. programme focused on the identifying the factors influencing demand for specialtyplant nutrition solutions in India’s rural markets, aiming at formulating a demand forecasting model for theIndustry.
