A Shrine to Stupidity1

There are lots of shrines around. This one was a torn barbed wire fence that had separated a small village for much too long

Be generous in prosperity

My favourite quotation: Be generous in prosperity, and thankful in adversity. Be worthy of the trust of thy neighbor, and look upon him with a bright and friendly face.

Faith in yourself

Do you have an excellent memory? Are you very attractive? Are you young enough to absorb and master new information quickly and easily? This is chapter one of a book I started about the power of belief. I believe I will find time to finish it someday :-)

Bahá'u'llah

Is unity a distant ideal to be achieved only after the other great problems of our time have been resolved? Bahá’u’lláh says the opposite is the case. The disease of our time is disunity. Only after humanity has overcome it will our social, economic, political, and other problems find solution. This is a brief introduction to Bahá'u'llah

Religion and science do not conflict - I could not agree more. They are like two wings of a bird. If one wing is weak the bird cannot fly. - Lorcan

About me:

About 30 years ago I left Ireland for Germany with the intention of staying for about two years. I have never been great at long term planning, but that’s not bad. I like to get the best out of the moment. If I feel like writing I write and if I don’t I grab my bike or jogging shoes and head for the nearby forest. My three children are now in their twenties so my Ugandan-born wife Betty and I are beginning to enjoy a freedom we have not had in 25 years. Among other things, I hope to now have more time for Baha*i activities.
