A Prayer Journey

I started a prayer journal last summer, when i went through a really tough time. I didn't do it very frequently, but the journey of being down in the dumps to joy and redemption is pretty clear. To God be the glory!

Comment on Biblical Orientation in a World of Chaos
Posted on May 25, 2008

this is really good stuff! i love finding the original finding the mystery behind words and how they are used, as you've done here with "orientation." well done.

Comment on Scriptural Reference for the Trinity
Posted on March 21, 2008

This is well done research. I'm in a systematic theology class right now, and we've just finished discussing the Trinity, so it's cool to see all this laid out. As for this discussion with yes2faith that I've unfortunately read through--he's an idiot, and an extremely unfriendly one at that. Keep up the good work.

Comment on Glorying in the Lord

wow. thank you for this. it really hit me. "the Lord strips us of all glory except his own." Amen for that.

Comment on 10 Myths and 10 Truths About Atheism
Posted on July 17, 2007

If Sam Harris is going to present myths of athiesm and the real truths about them, he should do so unbaised and backed up with actual facts. It's ironic to me that Harris is essentially proselytizing his beliefs as greater than any religious beliefs. With statements like "Given that we know atheists are often among the most intelligent and scientifically literate people in society...", which is no way a fact, let alone a given, he sets up atheism as the higher standard. He's doing exactly what he gets mad at Christians for doing, except from the other end of the spectrum. How is this any better than the "hostile and ignorant responses" that atheists say they encounter from religious people?

Comment on A Letter to All Christians
Posted on July 13, 2007

the verses you forgot to quote in galatians: "Yet we know that a person is not justified by works of the law but through faith in Jesus Christ, so we also have believed in Christ Jesus, in order to be justified by faith in Christ and not by works of the law, because by works of the law no one will be justified...For through the law I died to the law, so that I might live to God." Galatians 2:16,19 in our new lives in Christ, it doesn't matter if we follow the letter of the law down to our diets. isn't that kind of strict legalism what Jesus berated the pharisees for? christ's sacrifice, the creation of the new covenant, removes the need for strict adherence to the law. not to say that those things aren't good, but christians are not going to go to hell if they don't regulate their diet according to old covenant standards. the law is not the focus; it is Christ.
