Hi,
Since a few years, some automotive research activities are focussing on new antiwear and antifriction coating materials materials whith which, the internal frictions in the engine and in the transmission can be highly reduced (between 60% and 80%). This would represent a corresponding fuel consumption cut between 20 and 50%, without changing anything else in the automotive power concept ( and for which other type of fuel consumption reduction improvements can be added
In this field, many scientific and industrial circles are not aware that ta-C materials, can be more than 100 times better antiwear resistant, and at the same time which have a reduced dry friction with a coefficient about 0,1.
In addition, and because of the low wear rates, those coating materials can then be used in reduced thickness, and therefore at very much reduced coasts, compatible with actual cost requirements, when all aspects of those advanced coating materials are well adapted and controlled.
Thoses materials (or related materials) are allready used for various formula 1 engines, and the question is now to upscale these sort of technology to large industrial serial mechanical components.
this can be achieved with coating means which are potentially much more industrial, and better performing than what ha been achieved up to now.
However, some combined engineering/ coating process and material research is nea, to adapt and optimize actually known and allready used results.
With a combined industrial technical, marketing and scientific material and advanced surface culture, I am now aknowledged as an expert in these domains (look at recent according large international conferences and the website sciencedirect, and especially the published paper ELSEVIER/TSF Vol 515(2007)6619-6653 which has been recommended by the publisher) and would be very pleased to discuss those new aspects ( in German or English)and about the possibility to have real profit od them(practical, significant and short term profit), whith your expert and industrial managers, in order to achieve rapidly these goals.
I presently do not know how to transmit this message to the appropriate people within your organisation.
Best regards
TCE
