Hey I'm researching for a paper right now. I liked your paper, but must point out that you kind of reduce diversity to people who like to live and work in the same spot and people who don't. I think New Urban ism has a much broader view of diversity and is trying to incorporate different ages, social groups, and income levels all into the same community and I think all these groups fall on both sides of the live/work question. So, if that is the scope, I don't see how your argument of a homogeneous community of work/live in the same spot is really taking taking that much away from overall diversity. I know you suggest that its because other groups don't have the means or motivation to move to NU communities, but come on Disney may not be the best example as they overcharge for EVERYTHING. What about communities like Stapleton in Denver, Colorado? Also, your critique on nostalgia, I did not find all that convincing, maybe its just a trouble with phrasing, could you elaborate? This is just stuff that came to mind as I read your essay and food for thought, don't want to start up a scholarly war or anything, but would like to hear your response.
