The History of the Church: From the Protestant Revolution to the Present
By: Phil Friedl(All Copyrights Reserved 2008)“The sole reason why society is perishing is because it has refused to hear the word of the Church, which is theword of life, the word of God. All plans for salvation will be sterile if the great word of the Catholic Church isnot restored in all its fullness. The right to preach and instruct the people which the Church has received fromGod Himself in the persons of the Apostles, has been usurped by a crowd of prattling newspapermen andignorant babblers.”

Introduction: The Evil Fruit of Heresies
Just like wheat, weeds start off small, looking although insignificant, but when fully grown and the roots are far into the ground being well established, they are a danger to the survival of wheat. We must understand this, Ihave only three types of heresy written down for this treatise, when there are probably thousands of differenttypes of heresies, in one way similar to that of the other. The three types of heresy I have chosen to use, that isLutheranism, Gallicanism, and Liberalism. Lutheranism is only a seed, in comparison to the devastation itreeked on the Church, to that of Liberalism. However, Liberalism, started off as Lutheranism, and over the agesof four hundred years, the enemies of the Church sowing the seed of error well within the bosom of the Church. We cannot understand the error that I am to rebuttal unless we see what happened previously to the Church. “Inthe history of heresy we frequently find some individuals, even many, who, in spite of themselves, are draggedinto the torrent of error for no other reason than their supreme ignorance.”

History's Result of The Error Lutheranism
Protestantism derives it name from the word protest. To protest means to to oppose or to resist. People protestedagainst the authority to the Church on the claims that the Bible is the sole authority and faith alone is justified.Martin Luther nailed his ninety five theses “on the door of the Castle Church of Wittenberg (Nov 1, 1517).”

Martin Luther called the Epistle of St. James the “a straw Epistle.” In St. James it states, “faith without works isdead.” Which is obviously opposed to on Martin Luther preached and taught. Meanwhile, the true horror wasthat all people whatever rank they be, were able to interpret the Bible any way they pleased.
Private Judgment in Action
The results of Luther's revolutionary teachings-his denial of free will, his assertion of complete corruption ohuman nature by Original Sin, his doctrine of justification by faith alone, his stand on the Scriptures as the soleauthority in religious matters, his wild onslaughts on all authority, both ecclesiastical and civil - soon madethemselves felt. Tradesmen and day-laborers publicly interpreted the Bible, which had suddenly becomeintelligible to everyone. At St. Gall, in Switzerland, a crowd of people left the city and directed their steps to thefour quarters of the globe to announce the kingdom of God to the nations: didn't the Bible say: “Go, teach allnations and preach the Gospel to them?” Thomas Münzer of Zwickau concluded from the Scriptures that allChristians baptized as infants must be rebaptized (Anabaptists), because Christ said: “He who shall believe andshall be baptized, shall be saved”; but infants do not believe. He also taught that an interior light given by God toeach one to interpret the Bible; that there is no spiritual or temporal authority; that all things must be possessedin common by all men, who for one large community of brethren enjoying equal rights and exercising conjointly both sacerdotal and royal powers. Two hundred Anabaptists gathered at Appenzell and patiently waited for asupply of food from heaven; for they had read in the Gospel: “be not solicitous for your life, what you shall eat.”Bands of barefooted men and women ran through the streets and preached from the roofs of the houses in order to obey the words of Scripture: “That which ye hear in the ear, preach ye upon the housetops.”

Luther's Last Years
From the time of the formation of the Protestant League, Luther retired gradually from the forefront of thereformation movement. His last years were by no means happy. The Protestant princes confiscated the wealthiest bishoprics and monasteries for their own use, whilst the preachers often suffered the direst want. Irreligion andimmorality and vices of all sorts flourished wherever the new gospel gained the ascendancy.
We experience it daily,
” he says in a sermon, “
that the people are seven times worse today than ever before under the Papacy;they are more avaricious, more unchaste, more envious, more intemperate, more dishonest....
” He was especiallydissatisfied with the state of things in his own Wittenberg. “
let us get out of Sodom,
” he wrote to his wife in1545. “
I prefer to wander about homeless, and to beg my bread from door to door than to poison my poor last days by the spectacle of all these disorders.

So we know that Protestantism sowed the seed of error allowing people to disregard the authority of the Church, allowing the error of Separation of Church and State to spread rapidly.
6
The Church is the soul of State, and theState is the body of the Church. Just like the soul, the Church is superior because she is made of Divine origin, where as the body is just a mere instrument for the soul, so to the State is just the instrument of the Church. If one separates them, body and soul, the separation results in death, as the Council of Trent declares, so too doessociety die when the Church and State separate, it collapses spiritually, morally, and physically. All marks of holiness and sanctity disappear since none heed the advice of the Church, just like when a child ignores itsmothers pleas “do not put your hand in the fire, you will hurt yourself.” Morality is next to break down and thevery fabric of society becomes degraded, lawlessness that is disobedience, begins to breed even at a very youngage, their parents are either ignorant themselves or were the very one sowing this horrible seed. Lastly physically, when all of this evil is consummated, that is the former and the latter, absolute chaos is guaranteedand bound to happen for society, for then you have souls completely detached from God, His commandments,His Church, and His will there can simply be no good at all. For all that is contrary to God's will is sin, and to sinis to be a servant of Satan.“Now, the will of God is the perfection of God Himself, holy, just, pure, merciful, true; and anything contrary tothese perfections in thought, word, or deed is sin. The conformity of man to the will of God, to the perfections of God, is the sanctity or the perfection of the human soul; and the more he is conformed to the will of God, theholier and more perfect he is. Therefore, to be at variance with God is to be deformed; and the monstrousdeformity of the human frame is not more humbling nor more hideous-nay, it is not humbling and hideous, compared with the deformity of the soul. When the soul is unlike to God, when it is departed from the perfectionof God, when instead of purity there is impurity, instead of justice there is injustice, instead of truth there isfalsehood, instead of mercy there is cruelty, instead of the perfections of God there is the direct contrary of those perfections; no deformity or hideousness that can strike the eye is so terrible.”

“And God seeing that the wickedness of men was great on the earth, and that all the thought of their heart was bent upon evil at all times.
 It repented him
that he had made man on the earth. And being touched inwardly withsorrow of heart. He said: I will destroy man, whom I have created, from the face of the earth, from man even to beasts, from the creeping thing even to the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them.”

5. Church History (Page: 431)6. “Luther promoted the idea of the Religion of the King is the Religion of the people. Many rulers liked this idea, because they couldget out from underneath the Church. What this led to is the State over the Church as we have in this country (United States). True theysay we have freedom of religion, but we must meet state laws in many areas.” - Pope Michael7. ” God, who is unchangeable, is not capable of repentance, grief, or any other  passion. But these expressions are used to declare the enormity of the sins of men, which was so provoking as to determine their Creator to destroy these his creatures, whom before he had so much favoured.)
