MAY 5, 2009 MARCH AND APRIL 2009 VOLUME 4, NUMBER 2
Our Absence
Over the nextseveral months itwill be especiallyimportant for us tobe praying for thetown church inAlotau as they willbe taking a lotmore leadershipthan they havepreviously neededto assume.I had planned onspending severalweeks focusing onthis time of transition whenour family wouldbe gone.Currently theWilliams family isin Canada andMarcus spends histime working withthe churchesoutside of town. Our earlydeparture meantthat I did not do allthe things I hadhoped to do toreview and preparethe churchmembers. I amconfident in allthat God can dothrough the churchin Alotau.Pray also forMarcus and DianeReese as they arecurrently the onlymissionary familyin Alotau.
We’re In Canada
Three nights in hotels.Four days of travel.Five flight segments.23 hours of flying.Almost 11,000 miles. And we made it from Alotau to Ontario, Canada.

Those of you who keep track of us exclusively through thenewsletters might be surprised to hear that we are already back inNorth America. We were scheduled to leave May 6, 2009 forfurlough, but a doctors visit changed everything. For the sake of those just hearing the news I will recap events foryou:
April 9
th
during Jeri’s doctors appointment she was told thatshe had a condition called ‘placenta previa’. Throughout theremainder of the evening we did some web research andcontacted our doctor in Canada. There was a consensusbetween both the doctor in New Guinea and the researchthat we were able to do that we should travel back to NorthAmerica as soon as possible.
April 14
th
we left Alotau and began the journey back.
April 17
th
we arrived in Canada.

st
Jeri had an ultrasound. During the scan it wasconcluded that Jeri did not actually have placenta previa. The assumption is that the older machine in PNG left ashadow on the image that can easily be mistaken.Regardless, we are happy to know that there are nocomplications.Thank you to all of you who faithfully offered prayers on our behalf.
