Our 2009 furlough began earlier than expected with the news that
there were some possible complications with Jeri’s pregnancy. We
were blessed to know that there was not an issue after all.
At the time of this writing our family is currently staying with
 Jeri’s family in Cheyenne, Wyoming

I know that this article is really outside of the main focus of our newsletter, but Idid want to introduce you to a new personal project.
Our time in New Guinea has made me keenly sensitive to issues related toChristians and money management. Anyone who has lived in a third worldcountry knows the importance of developing theology of wealth and atheology of giving. This helps you function in the midst of poverty. So Ihave spent some personal time over the last few years studying, questioning, exploring, and even writing on topics related to Christiansand money.Following this study I decided to
start blogging about Christians andMoney. As of June 4
th
, 2009 I launched a blog called Money Help ForChristians that is found at www.moneyhelpforchristians.com.
In the blog I focus on (1) Financial teachings from a Biblical perspective.(2) Daily posts on topics that impact all aspects of personal finances. Thisincludes practical tips for saving money, earning money, and managingyour money. (3) A behind the scenes look at our finances - themotivations, impulses, and the spiritual implications of our financialdecisions.
In addition to the writing, I have made two presentations on this
material for a preacher’s luncheon in Ontario and at a Bible class in
Cheyenne, Wyoming. You can subscribe to receive daily emails delivered into your inboxby clicking here.

This is what the Lord
 says: “Let not the wise
man boast of his wisdomor the strong man boast of his strengthor the rich man boast of his riches, but let him who boastsboast about this:that he understands and knows me, that I am the Lord, who exerciseskindness, justice and righteousness on earth, for
in these I delight,”
declares the Lord.(Jeremiah 9:23-24 NIV)

We spent May and June in Ontario with Craig’s parents and were blessed
by our time together. (Thank you, Art and Ruby, for being such gracioushosts.) Hannah and Caleb became very comfortable with them, as wellas their Canadian aunts, uncles, and cousins. It was a blessing to visitmany congregations in Canada as well and to see some old friends. OnJune 18
th
, our lives became a little busier when Elizabeth Ruby was born. She has already captured our hearts and we are thankful for her goodhealth. Elizabeth was born with a head full of dark hair, weighing in at 6
lbs. 2 oz. We’ve been adju
sting to life without as much sleep and beingoutnumbered by our kiddos, but we feel very grateful for the childrenGod has given us. Hannah and Caleb are very proud big siblings, of course. We look forward to our time in the States for the next couple of months. Thank you to everyone for your encouragement, support, andprayers.
Government, Passport and Papers Update
By Craig
Ontario did expedite Elizabeth’s birth certificate so we have that on
hand. The Canadian High Commission in Denver has approved ourrequest to expedite a passport so that should be underway in a few days. From there we will wait for the PNG government to give Elizabeth anentry permit to PNG.

Meaford Church of Christ in Meaford, Ontario

Collingwood Church of Christ in Collingwood, Ontario

Tintern Church of Christ in Tintern, Ontario

Beatrice Church of Christ in Beatrice, Nebraska

Lander Church of Christ in Lander, Wyoming

Mountain View Church of Christ in Colorado Springs, Colorado

Champions Church of Christ in Houston, TX
Currently our plan is to leave North America on August 30
