Since its foundation in 1970 the Association for TheologicalEducation by Extension (TAFTEE), widely recognised as the mostimportant grass root level discipleship and ministry trainingmovement in India, has been offering various innovative leadershipdevelopment programmes at different levels. The BTS course, thefirst among the pioneering programmes launched by TAFTEE overthe years, is unique in many ways. This course, characterised byacademic excellence, cost effectiveness and ministry involvement,has evolved over the years as a model in offering field basedpractical theological education for those who are unable to avail of aformal residential theological programme. This course is speciallydesigned for those involved in various forms of Christian ministry inthe local church who wish to grow in their faith and improve theirskills in order to build up the body of Christ without having to leavefamily, job or church. This BTS course, accredited by the Asia Theological Association asequivalent to a B.Th, provides high quality discipleship andministerial training to Indian Churches, Missions and other ChristianOrganisations. Based on a holistic approach to ministerial training,the curriculum integrates guided study of well designed self studymaterials on different disciplines related to Christian Ministry,tutorials with ministry mentors, active involvement in ministry andresidential schools. Our link with most of the denominationalChurches and key Christian organisations also helps in effectivelyoffering this course in India.
