In English there are situations where some
verbs, adjectives or prepositions
Require either a gerund or an infinitive with or without ‘to’.
Example:
Nadia wantsto go to the library again.
Sheenjoysreading fables.
She is alwaysbusylooking for fanciful story books.
Sheblamesusfornot reading enough.
Her mother gives her money andletsher buy books.
 
 
However, there are cases where both
 
the gerund and the Infinitive 
are required after certain verbs such as:
Start, like, begin, forget, continue
and so on
All eventually depends on what we want to say and howwe want to express it
.- Shestarted readinga new story. - Shestarted to reada new story.
