We are constantlygrowing, transorming, innovating, and changing as wesecure our place in the world.The Filipina Summit’s theme or 2009 was deliber-ately chosen to signal the contributions that Filipinawomen can make to the world at a time when manyinstitutions and social systems are broken. Our goal isto bring together a diversity o proessionals who arecommitted to enhancing our bi-cultural strengths andto discuss groundbreaking solutions to the inherentintercultural issues that exist. We ace many challengesat both the national and global level.Many o the challenges are rooted in cultural valuesand belies that drive how we respond to issues, issuesthat need thoughtul solutions. We eel a sense ourgency to come together, explore how we can helpmove societies and organizations toward resolutionand, where needed, reconciliation.There are conficts mired in years o cultural mis-understanding and mistrust. There are long standinginequities that beg or attention. There are politicaldivisions and economic pressures that need resolution.Filipina Action Now will move us closer to PinayPower 2012.
