The physics premise is deeply flawed. One wonders why Brown didn't have a physicist read a draft. It needn't be a professional physicist, either, anyone who pass the freshman physics course offered at every college on earth. The director of CERN couldn't afford an airplane, he flies coach. For the most part, I enjoyed the book, it's a great plot. There are gaping holes, though. Survival after a certain fall - please. The premise was so good that, after I read it, I found myself rewriting it. Then laughed. Science vs religion has lots of good stories... www.TheGodPatent.com for example.

Set at an intersection of three realities – modern Los Angeles, the anachronism-studded landscape of Mexico and a land twelve millennia and one imagination away – this fable for the 21st century invokes ancient mystical traditions from the Vedas to the Kabala and Gnosticism, an infusion of reshuffled history, and a sprinkling of crumbling religious paradigms. "ERGO SUM" is a book Deepak Chopra might have written had he been Salman Rushdie.

His other book is called The Ultimate Rush - too bad he couldn't use the same title twice. Exalt brings it all together: freedom, love, life, death. It's a hang gliding trip with characters so clear that you get the feeling that they're your friends, too, and so you feel it. Exalt is the best example of present tense writing I've ever scene; Joe puts you right there from the first sentence to the last - utter immediacy. It's got the glorious philosophical input of Richard Bach's Illusions and the character-dudes of Nick Hornby along with Joe's own distinct talent to deliver a clever thrill ride. I LOVE this book!!

The Sower really takes off. Like a bent thriller - all the intrigue, chases, and mystery of Ken Follett, but as the names drop and the situation clarifies you start laughing and finally, when you really get it .... well, it touches you. genius. My first e-book reading experience was a good one.
