Diaphragmatic hernia occurs as result of failure of fusion of the transverse septum and thepleuroperitoneal folds during the 8
th
week of development. Incidence up to 1:2000 live births;posterolateral defects account for 75-85%; most on left side, but in this case occurs on rightside.We do surgical repair after infant has been stabilized medically using transabdominothoracalprimary closure of diaphragmatic defect.
