Artistic Director (Mentor to Actors)A graduate from NUS Sociology and Theatre Studies, Hon Benghas spent the last decade of hisprofessional career soaking upvaried roles of theatreproductions and filming indifferent capacities. Currently afreelance theatre practitioner,Beng is active in directing, lightingand set design, publicity design,production, technical and stagemanagement. Beng serves as anart director in various filmproductions, including WaltDisneys Studio Disney.Beng conducts lessons andworkshops in various tertiary institutions and schools.Hes worked closely withNational Arts Council, DramaBox, Singapore Dance Theatre,Toy Factory Ensemble, ChineseOpera Institute, The TheatrePractice, The Necessary Stageand Singapore ChineseOrchestra, STAGES, Siong LengMusical Association, SingaporeTheatre Arts Troupe, NUSChinese Dance Ensemble, etc.Beng is sincerely committed in the grooming of new talents through workshops and theactive promotion of artseducation to both the studentsand the community. He is striving towards his dream to lead hisown theatre company,PLAYINGSPACE and designcompany Room 69, as an artisticdirector-cum-designer.
Wong Chee Wai
Technical Director (Mentor to Set Designers)Chee Wai is a full-time freelanceset designer. He has worked withlocal theatre companies such asDrama Box, Toy Factory Productions Ltd, The TheatrePractice, D'rama Arts, The FunStage in publicity, front-of-house,exhibition, costume and setdesign.His design work Titoudao (2000)clinched Best Production Designat the inaugural Life! TheatreAwards. He was nominated atStraits Time Life! Richard Chua
Producer To put it simply, Richard Chua isa theatremaker. He founded hisown theatre society, Little RedShop, in 2006, which producessmall-scale, intimate shows. For a number of years now, Richardhas worked closely with TheSubstation, from staging plays inThe Substation theatre to co-founding Project Chiaroscurowith Audrey Wong, Artistic Co-Director, The Substation aproject that develops solo theatreperformances. This programmehad its beginnings in another theatrical event entitled 3 Menmeet 3 Women, with localplaywright and actor Verena Tay.In the international scene, Richardhas participated in different theatre festivals in China, HongKong, Macau and Taiwan. In 2004,Richard was invited to theprestigious Chinese DramaFestival with a production namedLovers Words, a project incollaboration with Taiwaneseplaywright Chiu An Chen. Thatwas the 1sttime a Singaporeanproduction has returned to thefestival after Kuo Pao Kunsproductions of Spirits Play in 1998and Sunset Rise in 2000.Richard has been actively involvedin theatre collaborations withmany artists from differentpractices visual arts, film, dancersand such.
