Why do I and why might you care about poetry, the Boston Celtics, culture and psychology?
Poetry, more than any other art form, has the essence to capture human speech and the human soul in a few short words. Poets have been masters of introspection and "extrospection," ; or the condition of other people's souls, for thousands of years. (Plato wanted to kill the poets because of their ability to influence the masses.)
The Boston Celtics are basketball poets, and have proven, over decades of success and one decade of futility, the power of hard, smart and honest work in the ability to accomplish goals, as well as the power of tradition.
Their decade and a half of futility (from the 90s until 2007) reflects the potential of tradition to break down in even the most successful of organizations, peoples, cultures and teams.
Culture is an outpour of both traditional strength and individual ingenuity. America has long been at the height of culture and ingenuity, and unless Americans get back to our roots, our culture is going to suffer a great fall.
Psychology is at the basis of all 3 traditions: sports, poetry and culture. Without an innate sense of psychology and brotherhood, humans would be nothing but sharks who eat their young.
I encourage you to explore these fields: psychology, poetry, sports and culture, in order that you may find yourself before finding the essence of others. Then, happiness, health and wealth will follow.
