Thank you for such an informative study. The way these young people congregate and interact isn't unique; we have similar places in Birmingham, UK, where the younger members of our teen subcultures have always gathered. However, the "Harajuku Kids" excel in terms of their style - such "pretty young things". Absolutely fascinating. I'm pretty sure that our Child Protection activists here would be mortified that these youngsters are being photographed by "Ojisan" - its a crazy world when children are taught that their elders are an automatic threat to their safety (and a true shame) - lovely to see that Japan, as ever, has a refreshing view.
