Hedon Remembrance Armistice Parade 2009

The Annual Hedon Armistice SundayParade and Church Service takesplace on the 8th November 2009.

Members of the Royal British Legion, localdignitaries and the band of the Army Cadet Force willassemble in the Market Place at 10.30am At 10.40 a.m. the parade will proceed to St.Augustine’sChurch from the Market Place, via Church Gate and Church lane for the formal churchservice. The parade will re-assemble in Church Lane at 11.40 a.m. and proceed to the War Memorial in Ivy Lane cemetery for the Wreath Laying ceremony. At 12:00 mid-day theParade will return to the Market Place via Ivy Lane, Church lane, New Road, St.Augustine’s Gate and Market place for the official salute to be taken. All members of recognised organisations; Brownies, Scouts, Red Cross, Lions, etc,are invited to attend. Other information:Royal British Legion – Hedon & District

Hedon Chrysanthemum Annual Show

The Hedon and District Chrysanthemum Societyholdsits annual show on Saturday November 7th at theAlexandra Hall in the centre of Hedon. This is the 61st show that the Society has staged. Aswell as the popular flower contests there arecompetitions for vegetables, crafts and cookery. This year under 16s are encouraged to take part inspecial categories for that age group. The event is open to the public from 2pm – 4:30pm.

Holderness Lions feedback on fundraising efforts

A small piece in last weeksHolderness Gazettecommunicated a big message.

Local good-cause campaigners, theHolderness Lions, held a fundraising drawin the Hedon Co-op store on 9th and 10thOctober and raised £487.85 for charity.The Lions would like to thank everyonewho took part in the draw and who made adonation and are grateful to the Co-op for its cooperation. This is fantastic of the Lions to givefeedback on their efforts in this way. Howmany times do we contribute to good-causes and charity but never get to hear anything more about it! Congratulations to the Lions for the feedback and thanks to the Gazette for printing it! TheHolderness Lionsare a local member club of theLions Club Internationalwhich describes itself as an “international network of volunteers and friends”.

To empower volunteers to serve their communities, meet humanitarianneeds, encourage peace and promote international understanding throughLions clubs.
