The Hedon Wish List
Posted onNovember 30, 2009by rayduff
Hedon Wish List 2010 with The Hedon Blog
“Imagine the kind of place we want Hedon to be!”

THE HEDON BLOG
wants togrow an online conversationabout the town. Thatconversation can cover everything that matters tolocal people and can beshared with the rest of theworld via the internet. This campaign will aim togenerate a Town
‘Wish List’
.This will list all ideas thatpeople have for makingHedon a better place to live and work in. The Wish List will reflect individual ambitions and constructive proposals for the town.Let’s imagine the kind of place we want Hedon to be!
The Wish List should not be a list of negatives:
If you know of a problem, then what isa possible answer? You can be as imaginative as you like. Examples: A town that doesn’t have dangerous traffic going through its centre!
l
Traffic calming measures
l
Community speed watch
l
More safer crossing areasMore things for young people to do!
l
Extend the Youth Club opening times
l
Speak to young people about what they want and would useOnce we have developed the wish list, we will
prioritise it
into realistic actions thatcan be tackled
now
,
sooner
or
later
. We will look at the actions that need to take placein order to make the priorities happen! And who can help us achieve some of these:Councils, MPs, NHS, business, voluntary organisations, etc?
The Wish List will open for ideas on Tuesday 1
st
December 2009 and will close onSunday 31
st
January 2010.

You can take part in generating the Hedon Wish List 2010 by visiting The HedonBlog between those dates.

Christmas Starts in Hedon
Posted onNovember 28, 2009by rayduff
CHRISTMAS OFFICIALLY

STARTED
inHedon last night as Hundreds turned outto see the town Christmas tree lit up by theTown Mayor. Cllr Ann Suggitt was helpedby a white-beared gentleman with a redcoat who said in a local accent “Hedon’sgreat at Christmas!”. After doing his dutythis gentleman miraculously melted intothe crowd and later turned up in Nutmegswindow! (See picture). Special stalls lined the traffic-free streetand turned the town centre into aChristmas market for the night. It was a great night but perhaps the soundsystem could be a bit better next year, the host speaker, the Mayor and Santa were alldifficult to hear in the winter wind.

Patient opinions improve local NHS
Posted onNovember 26, 2009by rayduff
IMPROVING YOUR LOCAL N.H.S.
(National Health Service) and theservices it provides is in all our interests.
Everyone
at some stage intheir lives will need the help of theN.H.S. Patient Opinionis a service that usesyour experiences and stories of usinghealth services in order to help other patients and bring about improvements. By simply sharing your opinion on what wasgood and what could have been better can have a dramatic affect on services. You can view what others are saying about your local hospitals and health services. But importantly you can very easily add your story, compliment, concern or experienceof a particular service in four quick and easy steps. Read more »
