Pretty drastic change to go from a witch to a pastor, don't you think? I'm with EDC2K7 - where did you get the words "Circe" and "Hermes" in the Harry Potter books? And yes, a lot of the characters' names aren't original, but have you never heard of Shakespeare? Was he trying to educate young people about witchcraft with 'double double toil and trouble'? Pretty sure he woukd have been burnt at the stake if he was. Did you ever consider that perhaps young people like to read the Harry Potter books just for the sake of it, or for the exciting action? Maybe some people even relate to the characters in the novels. Also, there is a reason it's called fantasy: it's not real!! And may I say I find it hard to believe that you think you can speak with authority on the issue 'as a former witch' - is that not blasphemy to your current occupation? It all comes down to the fact that J. K. Rowling is a very talented writer and you overanalyse way too much. I mean, my school, which is Catholic, looks like Hogwarts. Does it mean anything? No! My brother's school, also Catholic, studied "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban" in year 7 and they loved every second of it. Funnily enough, he is not a spell-casting, magically trained student now, he just happened to do very well in year 7 english thanks to his great interest in the novel. Just from reading the whole thing about the books being manuals on witchcraft is giving me flashbacks to the DA when Fudge didn't want them trained in combat...we all know how he turned out...oh wait a minute you wouldn't because you haven't read that far! Next time you try writing something like this, may I suggest that you a) read ALL the books, b) make sure you get the point of the books and c) perhaps it would be better if you kept it to yourself actually, although I must admit i was laughing the entire time I read it. Oh and Simon and Garfunkle? Seriously? It's a SONG. Get over it.
