Twitter and Facebook - New Age Marketing
I sat down the other day with one of our clients and the main topic of conversationwas what all the hype around Social Networking was.
I explained to him that thelandscape of marketing today has changed and including some form of Social Networking into his marketing mix was vital to staying competitive in his industry.I explained to him that we are in a new age of viral networking technology and it’simportant that we utilize as many of these FREE services as we can to drive traffic to our  businesses.
It doesn’t matter what type of product or service you offe
r, on-line networking can play an important role in connecting your business with potential clients.The top two social networking sites today are Twitter and Facebook. Using either one or  both of these can increase your brand awareness in the marketplace. The numbers areamazing on just how many millions of people are logging in everyday and using theseon-line networking sites.
I shared with him a few tips to making his socialnetworking work for him:
1.Create a well built business profile.2.Encourage your existing customers to follow you on Twitter or Join you onFacebook in your email signatures.3.Add the links to your networking profiles on your Web site.4.Write your posts in the first person …be chatty make it personal!5.Follow everyone on your staff that uses Twitter. Follow colleagues in relatedcompanies and in your industry.6.Reply to posts that mention you, when relevant.7.Ask your customers questions and get some good answers.8.Add pictures to your accounts …new product, new employees, pictures are wortha thousand words!9.Link out to pages on your site, your blog or any industry related news by usingTinyURL.com that shortens long URL’s.10.Use your accounts as a soft sell, through engagement, offer them something of value, and expect nothing in return.
