BLOGSPOT
How to create one of your ownThe work “blog” comes from the combination of the words “web-based logging”Although Myspace and Facebook are also blog sites, Blogspot is different in that you have morecontrol over who participates and who can see the comments and posts.Creating a Blogspot of your own is different from just creating an account that lets you commenton other blogs. To comment, all you have to do is register at Blogspot.com.Reasons you may want to create a blog of your own could include creating a personal diary(remember that you can hide it from everyone else if you wish), a diet journal, an emotional journal, a vacation journal or a portfolio of your works.
CREATING A BLOGSPOT OF YOUR OWN:
Step one- Type inwww.blogspot.comand click on the orange arrow that reads “CREATEYOUR BLOG NOW”Follow the instructions. I would use your school address if it is for school reasons. Your displayname can be anything you wish. However, if you are going to use this for professional reasons,I’d suggest using a professional display name.

Click “CONTINUE”Step Two:Select a blog title. This title will be located at the top of your page. You can change theappearance later. “Mr. Doe’s Blog” could work. Select a URL or website location. This will bewhere you will tell others where to go to visit your blog. You may have to get creative becauseof availability.Click “CONTINUE”Select a template. There some basic templates that will arrange your content under apredetermined scheme.Click “CONTINUE”Start blogging!Click “CONTINUE”
LAYOUT
Although the site will take you to a place for you to start blogging, do first things first.Select the LAYOUT tab at the top. “ELEMENTS” is a word used to describe pieces of yourblog site. You can add pieces or subtract pieces. You can even move the pieces around.Note that there are elements at the top, in a column on the right and at the bottom.

My favorite ELEMENT is a“LINK LIST.” This elementwill allow you to createhyperlinks to other sites, including schools, students, and teachers. The title of thelink list could be “studentblogs"REMEMBER TO HIT THE
“SAVE”
BUTTONBEFORE LEAVING THEPAGE.Now click on EDIT in the header element. Here, you can add a blog description or theme for your blog. This could be a great place for astatement about the portfolio.
SETTINGS
Click the SETTINGS tab at the top work your way through the BASIC, PUBLISHING,FORMATTING, COMMENTS, ARCHIVING, SITE FEED, EMAIL, OPEN ID ANDPERMISSIONS subtabs. The default settings in all of these are pretty good for the averageperson, but are not unique to you. You will have to decide on specifics like whether you wantthe whole world to see your blog or if you just want who ever you invite to see your blog. Theya really personal preferences.
