9. Per Diems who work primarily
holding positions
designated in departments, which areclosed on the weekends and have call requirements, will be required to work two (2) callshifts per quarter on a weekend. Such time will count as a shift worked towards theirrequirement.

E-shift Postings

E-shift is a program that enables staff to electronically sign up for “extra”shifts. All E-shift postings will be dated upon posting, and will remain posteduntil the end of the schedule. The Employer shall provide a mechanism forstaff to view who bid for extra shifts the BU seniority dates, and who wasgranted the shift.The initial and subsequent “extra” shifts shall be dated upon posting andsaved for a period of no less than three months. Upon request, the Union shallreceive a hardcopy of all units’ extra shift postings. This report shall bereferred to as the “Extra Shift Report.” In addition, the Union, upon request,shall receive hardcopies of the “Extra Shift Reports” and the final shiftapprovals up to 3 months prior to request.

E-shift
for each nursing unit based upon averagedaily census and acuity needs at the time the regular work schedule is posted.Bargaining unit employees shall have the right to sign up for said available timevia
the E-shift program.
First week of the two week advanced posting
Employees may bump during the first week of the two week advanced posting. Anemployee who signs up for all of the posted shift shall have preference over anemployee only signing up for a partial shift, during the first week of the two week advanced posting
.When two (2) or more bargaining unit employees sign up for the same time,bargaining unit seniority shall prevail. An employee who signs up for all of theposted shift shall have preference over an employee only signing up for apartial shift, seniority notwithstanding. Per Diems are limited to four shifts(section 4.04). The nurse manager will approve shifts by order of seniority atthe end of the first week with the exception noted above. Shifts approved atthe end of the first week of posting shall be referred to as the “original needslist.”
