Box is full ofoutgrown toys and dolls.Social worker lifts the doll out of the box, andbrushes the dust off the doll’s sky blue dress.The girl’s face shows hesitation. Does she really want to part with the doll that she loves so much?The social worker and the mom exchange knowinglooks. They both remember how hard it was to let goof their favorite doll.1st mom places her hand gently on her daughter’sshoulder and then, ever so gently directs herattention towards someone across the room.SEVEN-YEAR-OLD-GIRL is playing pick-up-sticks with2ND MOM at a table in the far corner.The seven-year-old girl is engrossed in the pick-up-stick game but the 2nd mom looks up.Reveal: The 2nd mom is recovering from battery.Her face is bruised and scarred. Shadowsbetween the light.VOICE OVER (CONT’D)Until you see for yourself.Seven-year-old girl’s mom, placing her hand, ever sogently, on the seven-year-old’s shoulder.Seven-year-old Girl’s mom gesturing towards thetwelve-year-old girl walking towards her and holdingthe doll’s outstretched arms towards her.VOICE OVER (CONT’D)How easy it is.The seven-year-old’s looks up with eyes that haveknown terror and fear.
