FROM LUTHER’S PRAYERS:
 Before communion
My Lord Christ, I have fallen, I would gladly be strong. For this purpose you have instituted the sacrament, that with it we mayrekindle and strengthen our faith and be helped. Therefore I am toreceive it. Behold, Lord, it is your word. My weakness and failingsare known to you. You yourself have said: “Come unto me, all wholabor and are heavyladen, and I will give you rest. I now come to behelped. Amen.
While communing
Lord, it is true that I am not worthy that you should come under myroof. Yet I am in need and desire your help and grace. So I comewith no other plea except that I have heard the gracious invitation tocome to your altar. I am unworthy, but you have assured me I shallhave forgiveness of all sins through your body and blood which I eatand drink in this sacrament. Amen, dear Lord; your word is true. I donot doubt it. Let happen to me whatever you say. Amen.
 After Communion
We thank you, almighty Lord, God, that you have refreshed us withthis precious gift, and we ask for your mercy that you would let itnurture in us strong faith toward you and intensive love among us all, through Jesus Christ, you Son our Lord. Amen.

What is the Sacrament of the Altar?

It is the true body and blood of our Lord Jesus Christunder the bread and wine, instituted by Christ himself for us Christians to eat and drink.
THIRD SUNDAYOF EASTER

O God, by the humiliation of your Son you lifted upthis fallen world, rescuing us from the hopelessnessof death. Grant your faithful people a share in the joys that are eternal; through your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever.
