any Christians have a awed under

standing of faith. They think for Godto answer their prayers they need “greatfaith”. This is not entirely true. The key isthe object of our faith, not just how muchor little is our faith. A person can have littlefaith to walk on thick ice but he is safe; an
-
other person can have great faith to walk onthin ice and he still drowns. We must ensure that theobject of our faith is theLord Jesus Christ and HisWord, not ourselves. In our everyday life youexercise faith without re

alizing it. You get in thecar and drive on faith. Youdon’t know if you’re goingto make it to your destina

tion alive or not, but yougo. You have faith that thefood you buy that is grown by strangers is not harm

ful, so you eat it. You havefaith that the doctors yousee are competent, so you put yourself in their hands. If you did not have faith,if you did not trust others and act on thattrust, you wouldn’t be able to drive, eat,or get help in times of sickness. Faith has practical expressions.Yet, so many believers have so little faithin God. I say this because I am hard pressedto nd evidences of their faith. We see thatfaith made Noah work for God. One of theevidences of faith as gleaned from Heb11:7 is that faith works for God.Genesis 6 tells the tragic story of the de
-
cline of humanity into sin. But God’s gracetriumphed He saved Noah (Gen 6:8).In Noah, his faith manifested itself in realworks. James 2:26 says, “For as the bodywithout the spirit is dead, so faith withoutworks is dead also.”Noah built an ark be

cause he believed in God.Every swing of his axesaid “faith.” Every felledtree declared “faith”. Ev

ing, witnessing, helping, giving, performing goodworks, etc.You cannot dispute that faith is vitallyimportant in the life of the Christian. It is byfaith that you are saved; you are justied;cleansed, and look forward to the return of Jesus. Faith is where you please God, andlive your present life in dependence uponHim.The faith that saved you also requiresyou to have manifestations of it by way of

(Hebrews 11:6)
But without faith it isimpossible to please Him,for he who comes to Godmust believe that He is,and that He is a rewarder of those who diligentlyseek Him.7 By faith Noah, being divinely warned of things not yet seen, movedwith godly fear, preparedan ark for the saving of hishousehold, by which hecondemned the worldand became heir of therighteousness which isaccording to faith.

T
o attempt great things for God,we need great faith and musttake positive steps to see the planunfold other than just sitting downto pray. I believe God will give usnecessary skills, resources, supportnetwork and strategies if we dare tomove forward in any faith venture. We require condence to make bigsteps forward and this condenceneeds to be built up through smallsteps of success. For example, FGT members whohave given RM10K for Jericho land purchase, should now attempt togive 10 times or 100 times more for the EDC or Hebron project. I have personally experienced how God blesses in return when I increasedmy giving for various church proj
-
ects. I have seen how God fullledHis promises in Malachi 3:10 for my business and personal life when Igave in faith. We know that God is trustworthy. He is absolutely sovereign over every event in the universe, and
He exercises that sovereignty in an
innite wise and loving way for our own good. We can trust God. Hewill never fail us nor forsake us. Thequestion is whether you are trustingHim fully NOW?To grow in our ability to trust Godin times of difculties, we must lay asolid foundation of a daily personalrelationship with Him. As we do it,depending upon the enabling power of His Holy Spirit, we will be ableto profess more and more, that “ ICAN TRUST GOD” and am willingto move forward in faith. God cannotwork miracles for us if we choose todo nothing. Everyday is a miracle in progress.Malachi 3: 10 : “Bring all the tithesinto the storehouse, that there may be food in My house, and try Menow in this, “Says the Lord of hosts,“If I will not open for you the win
-
dows of heavens, and pour out for you such blessing, that there will not be room enough to receive it.”

works (Eph 2:9).I would like to ask you these questions: “What has faithchanged in your life? What are the evidences of faith inyour life? Is faith growing in your life?”Without the expression of real and practical faith, your spiritual life would be very lethargic - maybe even dead?Let’s enter 2009 with faith!

We cannot ignore it, asJesus also did not ignore the needsof the people. He did not just preachand teach the Word of God, but Hefed, healed, and rebuked the cor

Q: Do you still face problems withthe government authorities withregard to your work?
: Since we moved to a new placewithin the same area, we have notfaced any problems with the authori

Q: What’s the greatest challenge faced in Bokale?
: There are a lot of challenges. We reach out to the poor who wentthrough Cyclone Nargis, many of whom have lost their loved ones. Weoffer listening ears to the survivors, giving words of comfort and hope tothem, and try to nd practical waysto help them rebuild their lives andhomes. For example, by distributingfood supplies and installing a water  pump to provide fresh water for the people. We help them because Godloves them and it has opened thedoors for us to share the gospel andfaithfulness of God.
