THE Government has awarded Network Rail an increased budget for Control Period 6 from 2019-2024 despite fears that funding would be cut now that NR accounts are on the public books.
The five-year budget has been set at £47.1 billion, which is an increase from £38 billion in the previous five year period to 2019; the equivalent of £41 billion after adjusting for inflation.
