SS-STURMBRIGADE ‘LANGEMARCK’

Born in the Belgian village of Kumtich in 1921. A Flemish nationalist, he joined the Vlaamsch Nationaal Verbond (VNV) as a teenager. After Belgium’s occupation he tried to join the Waffen-SS but was initially refused for being too short.
